Hey people!

While any film project is always a collaborative art and I've been extremely thankful for all the help we've received in making our videos, past and present, I’ve been meaning to single out a couple of gentlemen who have been instrumental in bringing some video projects to the small screen for us, Daniel Elkayam and Brian McKee.  Both of these guys have been a pleasure and an inspiration to work with.

DANIEL ELKAYAM

Daniel Elkayam was the visionary director responsible for both Blitzen Trapper videos The Tree and Black River Killer.   He was born in New York and raised in Bellingham, Washington.  He made his first feature film while still in high school and went on to graduate from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.   While in college, he created his second feature length film.  He eventually settled in Portland, Oregon and continued making short films and music videos.  In May of 2011 he re-located to Los Angeles, California..  In addition to numerous short films, Daniel’s music video filmography includes:

The Tree – Blitzen Trapper (2010)

A.D.D. – Loomis and the Lust (2010)

Black River Killer – Blitzen Trapper (2009)

Dirty Money – MYG (2005)

Done Deal Already – MYG (2005)

Spin Cycle – Speechwriters, LLC (2004)

Dreams – AkWord (2004)

Daniel is no longer with us here in Portland as he recently re-located to LA.  So, take care of him Los Angeles, it was very sad to part with him.  If you are in southern California, or anywhere for that matter, and interested in acquiring his services, contact him at [email protected]

BRIAN THOMAS MCKEE

As Director of Photography (DP), Brian McKee was the unsung hero behind the camera for both Blitzen Trapper videos The Tree and Black River Killer, as well as being Co-director and Camera Op for our latest yet to be released video, Taking It Easy Too Long.  Brian was born and raised in Portland, Oregon.  He graduated in 2008 from the Integrated Media Program at Mt. Hood Community College and continues to live and work here in Portland.  In addition to a feature film and several short films, Brian’s growing music video filmography as DP includes:

I Should Have Known  - Foo Fighters (2011)

Taking It Easy Too Long – Blitzen Trapper (2011)

The Tree – Blitzen Trapper (2010)

A.D.D. – Loomis and the Lust (2010)

Black River Killer – Blitzen Trapper (2009)

Russia- Ramona Falls(2009)

Brian still lives and plays here in Portland, so if you’re in need of a creative, hardworking DP with ideas and enthusiasm, hit him up at [email protected]

That's all for now.  Coming soon, new videos for our upcoming record, American Goldwing.  Stay tuned!

Brian
